Fashion Week: All Things Ankara Fashion Week 2015 (Recap)

“100s of Attendees & Models, 13 Vendors, 11 Designers , 3 events & a 1 Day Production”
 The 2nd Cycle of All Things Ankara Fashion Week hit the Washington, D.C. Area by storm on
Saturday, July 25th, 2015.

The fully attended event took place at the luxurious, entertainment, & celebrity concert hall,
The Fillmore Silver Spring in Downtown Silver Spring, Maryland.
It was a one day production with three events that showcased, highlighted and celebrated
Ankara Print Fashion.
 All Things Ankara Fashion Week 2015 featured:

 An Ankara Marketplace of a diverse array of Exhibitors, Vendors and African Inspired small business owners,
whom were able to successfully sell and promote their products to the public.

An Ankara Fashion Show of talented Designers,  
whom were able to showcase their latest luxurious, colorful & vibrant Ankara Print Inspired designs on the runway for all shapes,sizes, genders & age groups.
 
An Official Launch for LOFA Magazine & Kente Brothers,
whom were able to introduce their brands  in collaboration with the event.
 
 
 LOFA Magazine also known as Love of Fashion in Africa Magazine showcases the world of African fashion and beauty in and out the continent of Africa.
 
 
Kente Brothers are a talented brotherhood and creative group comprised of  individuals from all over the world with different cultures and backgrounds.

As the vendors and exhibitors sold and promoted their products, the crowd was entertained

Wearing a stylish and casual Kente Tunic with a tail, Beautician and Comedian, Flapp Jack (Aisha Sulaiman) hosted the Ankara Marketplace while Towson University Student and Disc Jockey
 
 
As the Ankara Marketplace came to a close, The Fillmore started to prepared for The Ankara Fashion Show & LOFA Magazine/Kente Brothers Official Launch, the production’s most anticipated event.
 
 
 
As the doors opened, the stylish attendees arrived to their seats which had
 
 
 
 The Gift bags were tied with Ankara Print Fabric, included numerous goodies and even had a
The Ankara Fashion Show featured spectacular Ankara Print Designs and models from various countries, complexions and of rich skin tones.

Multi-award winning Fashion Director Show, Stylist & Published Blogger, 
Skye Charlie, 
held it down as the fashion show’s backstage coordinator/director

In between designer showcases on the runway, the crowd was entertained by local musicians & dancers:
Traffic Reporter, Host/Producer at FOX/CW Baltimore & KALI TV Host, Chardelle Moore, looked regal in a spectacular Black and Gold Gye Nyame Dress by OhemmaClosetas she captivated the crowd with her amazing presence, as the
 event’s motivational guest speaker.

The event concluded with LOFA Magazine’s Official Launch, a collaborative culture art exhibit featuring exclusive in-house couture designs by House of LOFA Magazine.
 
 
 
 
The production’s non-profit beneficiary was La Main Tendue “The Reach Out Hand”.

The Faces and Models of the All Things Ankara Fashion Week 2015 Campaign were
  Elaine Afrika (Adliad Kwawu) & Team Yaga (Arnold Phillip).
They participated in a unique, colorful and chic campaign lookbooks which included:
ankara minimalism., Ankara Hydration & Ankara Immaculate Couture.
 
The ATAFW 2015 Campaign Editorials were shot by Paul Hance of LOFA MagazineStyled by Nikki Billie Jean of All Things Ankara, Creatively Directed by Jacqueline Weah of LOFA Magazine & Troy Massa of Leone Consulting & Marketing Group & Make-Up and Hair was styled by Emmanuela Flomo of Emmanuela’s Hair & Make-Up
 
The Campaign Editorial Video was shot by Eugene Maddy of Get Boxed.
