Fun Fact: Ndombolo is a music genre and dance style originating in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is derived from the Kwassa Kwassa, a music/dance subgenre of Soukous. Soukous which means “to shake” in French, is derived from the Congolese rumba which gained popularity in France in the 1980s.
